The fifth Sustainability Report of Mundo Sano Foundation (FMS) details its performance regarding the actions, programs and projects implemented throughout 2021.
It addresses the social, environmental, economic and governance dimensions, as well as its sustainability approach during the implementation of FMS’s mission: contributing to improve the health of people affected by Neglected Tropical Diseases who live under vulnerable socioeconomic conditions.
One of the innovations is that FMS implemented GRI’s Non-Governmental Sector Supplement guidelines. Using this methodology, the report provides comparative and transparent information that was measured with KPI, comparative data, materiality matrix and details on FMS’s activity.
The publication —which consists of a digital edition in Spanish and in English, a digital and print executive summary, and a summary video— shows how FMS, since its foundation in 1994, understands human health as a whole along with animal and plant health, and the environment.
The work was effective for FMS’s continuous improvement:
1. The information to be communicated was systematized. This way, FMS will be able to measure with greater reliability the achievement of short, medium and long-term objectives.
2. Through content structuring, it helped to order and prioritize the job carried out by the organization. This benefit helps schedule FMS’s tasks.
It constitutes a qualitative leap in comparison with the 2020 report: it sheds light on FMS’s comprehensive management and governance, and it also reports on finances. This provides stakeholders with certainty on FMS’s activities continuity, stability, efficiency and perspectives of keeping a sustained impact throughout time.
It unveiled a dialog and horizontal open participation dynamic that also helped to unify criteria and discover coincidences through:
1. The interviews, the focus groups and the inclusion of the voice of the volunteers and beneficiaries of the actions taken towards health.
2. The participation and involvement of all FMS’s corporate sectors.
3. Technical and awareness-raising training was given to the people responsible for each sector to add information and their own perception, and also to be aligned with the priority SDGs.
The publication has turned into a source of reference for FMS’s internal audience, partners, donors, allies and beneficiaries.
