Aegis Living Lake Union- Architectural Design

Aegis Living Lake Union is a 73,182-square-foot assisted living and memory care community in Seattle, Washington, designed by Ankrom Moisan Architects. Inspired by The Boys in the Boat and the University of Washington’s 1936 Olympic gold medal-winning rowing team, the architecture reflects the form and craftsmanship of a rowing shell while incorporating references to water movement and local history throughout the design.

The six-story community includes 77 residential units and a range of hospitality-focused amenities, including a bistro, cinema, activity room, salon, barber shop, fitness and yoga center, massage room, courtyard, and gathering spaces designed to support daily life and social connection.

Recognized with the AIA Design for Aging Review Award, ULI Americas Award for Excellence, IIDA Oregon Chapter Design Excellence Award for Sustainability, and the Senior Housing News Architecture & Design Award for Assisted Living, Aegis Living Lake Union demonstrates how architecture can bring together hospitality, memory care, and sustainable design within a senior living community.
