Campaign Occasion
The Headache Awareness Campaign (Stop the Headache) was launched in response to the need to enhance public awareness of headaches as a common health condition with a direct impact on quality of life and daily performance. The campaign focuses on types of headaches, their causes, and management methods, as well as promoting preventive practices and healthy lifestyle choices, alongside supporting the safe and responsible use of treatment, thereby empowering community members to make informed health decisions and reduce the frequency of headache attacks.
Globally, headache disorders affect approximately 40% of the population, equivalent to 3.1 billion people in 2021.
Headache disorders occur more frequently in females than males.
The prevalence of primary headaches among children and adolescents reached 62% in 2023, with 38% among females and 27% among males. More than 90% of school-aged children suffer from headaches.
