A Single Mom by Choice

Andrea always knew she wanted to be a mom. When she reached her late 30s and hadn’t met the right partner, she decided to put love on hold and pursue parenthood on her own.



She went through several fertility treatments, including two that ended in loss. Her doctor, Christine Mullin, MD, director of IVF at Northwell Health Fertility, later recommended IVF using the eggs Andrea froze years earlier. That single IVF cycle became the one that brought her daughter, Chiara, into the world.
